Adding A Poll
How do I add a poll to my site?
Polls, like news items, have start and end dates. Only one poll
will be active at a time. To currently active poll must be within
the start and end dates, it must be approved, and if there is more
than one is possible, the highest priority poll is used.
To add a new poll from scratch:
- Choose the "Polls" item of your site's "Content" menu.
- This is the list of all past, present, and future polls.
At the top of the list are the most recent, and older polls are
lower.
- Choose the "Add Poll" link at the top of the page.
- Decide what question you'd like to ask for the poll and fill it
in. Click the "Add" button when you're done.
- Now that you've created a question, you need to now create poll options.
Locate the "Add Option" box in the center of the page.
- For each option you'd like to add, type it in this box and click the
"Add" button. You can remove options by clicking the
icon next to it.
- When you have completed, you need to set the dates for the poll
to run. The default dates start now, and runs for a month. If this
is ok for you, you don't need to do anything. Otherwise, update the
dates and click the "Edit" button.
- When you've completed the poll and set the dates, you must approve
the poll to publish it on the front page. Click the "Approve it?"
link.
- The poll will show up on the front page if it is the highest
priority current poll.
